Hello Friends,

Cutting calories through dietary changes seems to promote weight loss more effectively than does exercise and physical activity. But physical activity also is important in weight control. The key to weight loss is burning more calories than you consume. Because 3,500 calories equals about 1 pound (0.45 kilogram) of fat, you need to burn 3,500 calories more than you take in to lose 1 pound. So if you cut 500 calories from your diet each day, you'd lose about 1 pound a week (500 calories x 7 days = 3,500 calories).

Thanks and Regards,

My husband is overweight and nothing seems to be working for him. What should he pay more stress on-dieting or exercising?

Hi There,

You have to understand one thing that obesity is a state of accumultaion of fat tissues, in the body, which is a form of energy which has not been used. You asked dieting or exercising, I would like that right and balanced diet always helps rather than dieting and exercising with the intent of buring calories and not eating balanced diet will hurt in the long run. Consult a dietician and he/she would suggest the balanced diet which your husband's body requires. If your husband try at power yoga and asanas, then he is going to be healthy in some time provided he sticks to this lifestyle and opts for the holistic way of life.

Hope this would help,
All the best,
