He is also, - one of the directors at the Medical Oncology Services at CBCC- Apollo Hospitals, Gandhinagar - director of Vibgyor Scientific Research Pvt Ltd. - a member of four ethics committees in Ahmedabad - a member of several professional organisations such as ASCO, ESMO, ISMPO, ICON, IMA, AMA, APA, APG - chairman of SOP review and approval committee for Indian Collaborative Oncology Network (ICON) Dr Desai was also associated with the Regional Cancer Centre (a teaching institute for medical oncology) from 1993-1998 and has been a member of the Tongue Cancer Practice Guideline subcommittee for ICMR.
